But we loved every minute of it. Driving through narrow alley markets! A friendly hello as we drove past! I loved that the guy sits on his motorbike to read his morning paper! We drove out of District 1 and immediately got into the local markets. We rode through the markets until they became so narrow that we had to get off the motorbikes and walk.

Level Contributor 460 posts 6 reviews 9 helpful votes 11. Re Massage in HCMC 15 years ago The problem with massage in HCMC is that the girls get paid very little if anything at all and are pretty agressive about asking for tips. This is particularlly true in most of the places in district 1 , try to get away with a a $2 tip and you are in to a major argument and bad feeling which can spoil the whole experience . The other problem is the quality of the massage is variable even in the same place. This can range from fantastic or awful depending on the skill of the girl The third issue is that most massage places are frequented by local men who are more interested in the the how shall i put this the "happy Ending" than a really good massage. Most massage places will ask if you require a happy ending this even happens at the major hotels . Refusing is never an issue but most have factored this into the tip they are expecting. Decent places MEN ONLY ... sounds sleazy but its not . It is billed as a spa for man . I had a deep tissue massage there which was fantstic the price is around $22 excluding tip There is also a place that is further out near the zoo. The place is non sleasy and offers a 4 hand massage with 2 people massaging you ar the same time. The price is 190,000 for the massage . As for the rest DUXTON used to do a good package with a massage, back rub, manicure and pendicure for $22 . But you will be hit with tips from each service but not too agressive. Re Massage in HCMC 14 years ago My boyfriend and i went for a massage at the Que Huong Liberty Hotel in the backpacker area of HCMC and it was a bit of an experience! The hotel and spa look very professional and we paid 120,000 VND £5 each for an hours body massage and full use of the jacuzzi and sauna. When it came to the massage we were taken to separate rooms which still looked very upmarket. At the end of my hour the masseuse demanded a 40,000 VND tip for no particular reason?! At the end of my boyfriend's massage he was propositioned by his masseuse, who wanted a 500,000 VND 'tip' for a hand job?! Needless to say we legged it out of there pretty quick. So be wary, in HCMC sometimes even the nice places are sleazy. Level Contributor 2,864 posts 25 reviews 28 helpful votes 13. Re Massage in HCMC 14 years ago Hi bennystar, fancy meeting you here. Re Massage in HCMC 14 years ago "....spoil it for the rest of us, spoils the market, etc" gosh i get a kick out of that when people say that! how? if anything the opposite - the required and up front cost is kept low by the compensation of the cost + the tip = the total cost. oh, wait a minute, oh it spoils it by hurting someones pride cause they feel shamed and cheap. if someone sets the price of a service and considers the tip as to the total final price - then cheapos can pay the set price, then stiff the server and save money! i think the stiffers owe the tippers a big "thank you" for settng up the system to allow them to save money. you just have to be comforable with yourself looking cheap - no big deal. i guess it all comes back to the whole arguement for or against tipping, and i can appreciate both sides of it. i think "up to you" is best. 19. Spa & Massage is among one of the greatest experiences when travelling to Ho Chi Minh City since their services are phenomenal which gives you total relaxation after a long day of exploring the city at every reasonable price around 10-20$ Following is top 5 Best Spa & Massage in Ho Chi Minh City 1. 7 Days Spa 7 Days Spa Signature This massage therapy combines techniques including specialized pressure and traditional methods and sauna. It aims to improve muscle condition white simultaneously helping to promote the vital life energy. My wife and I saw the 7 Days as we passed on our way to our apartment in Ho Chi Minh City for a weekend break. We fancied a massage the next day and walked in. Friendly welcome with mint tea and we made our choices of treatments from a good list. I had the deep tissue massage as I had some back soreness and my wife went for the signature 60-minute massage. The changing areas have shower, sauna and steam room and these are included in the prices to use as you wish. Very clean and well-appointed, nice robes to change into for your treatments and secure lockers. My massage was great, I chose a medium massage and it was just right for me. My masseur was skilled and it was very relaxing. Afterward, I felt really good, relaxed and energetic and my aching has gone. My wife also said her masseuse was great too. Well recommended. Good value at 780k VND – approximately £24 for both of us. We were also offered tea and a rather yummy yogurt in reception before we left. Certainly up there with far more expensive places. You can book the experience here and enjoy discount up to 15% 2. Cat Moc Spa This place is one of the top spa & massage in Ho Chi Minh City Saigon. Located on Tran Dinh Xu, a non-busy street in District 1, 500 meters from Pham Ngu Lao backpacker area, it is very easy to find. The area is well-decorated with calming lights, natural melodies, and delicate aromatic scents that blend through the air flowing through the Vietnamese architecture, which brings you peace from the very first moment you step in. This spa will pay for your transportation to get there one way. All you need to do is tell the receptionist the amount of money that you paid for your taxi or Grab, they will refund you right after. The average price is around 10 USD for a 30-minute treatment and they provide you many choices ranging from Swedish massage, Traditional Thai massage, Hot Stone massage, Vietnamese herbal relaxing massage, facial/body skincare, and other beauty services. For a recommended package? The 75-minute long hot stone therapy is ideal when you need total relaxation. Otherwise, the 30-minute long foot care after a whole day of walking and exploring the city should be great. And just a small note, you should make a reservation if you’re going with a group of more than two people. 3. Miu Miu Spa Miumiu has five spas in Saigon, all located in District 1, but the one on Ngo Duc Ke street is the most central one due to its golden location right in front of the Bitexco Financial Tower and just 800 meters from Ben Thanh Market. The modern Asian-style architecture of Miumiu Spa combined with the subtle decorative furniture and the tranquil ambiance of melodious music will melt your tension. Besides the Vietnamese and Thai massage, Miumiu also introduces the Shiatsu massage from Japan which focuses on using one’s fingertips only instead of combining the elbow, knee, and clenched fingers during the massage. This treatment is believed to relieve stress, lessen back pain, minimize digestive discomfort and headaches, and so much more such as helping with fertility and reproductive issues. There are only two 30-minute services for you to choose the quick foot or quick body massage. The rest of your options are above 60-minute long which won’t let you down. The fresh ginger essence massage is my favorite. Do not worry about tipping as the service fees include a tip for the staff. They will also provide hand-made antioxidant juice before services begin and a cup of Vietnamese tea after. And one last thing, credit cards are accepted and you need to book 24 hours ahead of time. This spa is quite busy, especially on the weekends. Saigon Heritage Spa Ranked number 1 on Tripadvisor among the best spas in Saigon, this can’t be recommended any higher. Just a few steps from the Saigon Opera House, this is such an ideal place to relax your body. Saigon Heritage welcomes you with its cozy atmosphere, lovely staff and a mysterious hallway that gives you all the good signs for an amazing massage. This spa is very proud of its massage therapists who were trained very carefully before joining the line of in-service massage therapists. They specialize in traditional massage & spa aroma oil from Vietnam & Thailand. Beauty services, like facial care, for example, are just side services. The fascinating hot stones with the added fresh cucumber facial pack will give you the best experience ever. I'm really glad to have trusted those reviews because Enjoy was just amazing. No difficulty in finding the location, and I was immediately greeted by 2 very charming ladies who spoke decent English. They gave me a room which was on a higher floor about 4 storeys' high of spiral staircase and it was clean enough for my standards. I had a male therapist and his pressure was firm. Took the Long Course treatment which comprised hot stone massage amazed at how the therapist could have held on to those!, a little bit of stepping on the back, and amidst all, the cream they used wasn't oily and rather fragrant. Best part is, the pressure was consistent throughout the massage and they managed to remove the tension at the lower back I had from all the walking! At the end of the massage, they hadn't asked for tips I didn't think they were expecting any!, so I had to pass the tips to the counter staff after having my tea to pass it on to them. Overall I would say the massage was extremely value-for-money, place is clean, location isn't hard to find, and service staff at the counter were extremely friendly - if I were to return to HCMC, I'll definitely return To Enjoy for a of experience April 2014Ask travelfan F about Massage Enjoy2 Thank travelfan F This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Re Massage in HCMC 14 years ago Hi Skeggs i had returned from HCMC n also Hanoi for quite some time was to try to start up a business hotel there but the plans did not take its a good thing too it the massages there is quite a still feel China has better massages that suit me whether it be in Shanghai,Guangzhou,Hainan tippings is too prevalent there n so the standards r too much of a contrast depending on at the Grand its quite a nice area to stay the boat ride is a mini one compared to Huangpu u have a great time. Re Massage in HCMC 14 years ago Hi benny, I am working out of hai phong, not visiting. hey I see all the factories going up. the new china. even many taiwanese here too. HCM maybe new shanghai - some years from now and smaller but it will come. I can feel it, it has the same buzz. Good luck in setting up hotel. Prices for reasonable hotels are ridiculous here., given exchange rate and local prices. maybe need VN sponsor ... PS serious about massage place. similar to massages received on julu lu or tongren lu... Level Contributor 2,864 posts 25 reviews 28 helpful votes 16. Re Massage in HCMC 14 years ago And yes the boat ride is rubbish. actually in haiphong you can get real massages- without happy endings! and they compare well to good china style massage. in hcm they are not very good. Good luck with your plans. I wish you success! Level Contributor 5,716 posts 45 reviews 118 helpful votes 17. 19.
